DESCRIPTION:Séminaire « Courants de pensée et modèles dans l’urbanisme » \nporté par la professeure Anna GEPPERT \nSéminaire de recherche \nanimé par Anna GEPPERT\, Professeure des Universités \nUR Médiations – Sciences des lieux\, sciences des liens \nSorbonne Université \n  \nObjet du séminaire : \nDans sa célèbre anthologie L’urbanisme\, utopie et réalités (1965)\, Françoise Choay a montré l’importance des grands \ncourants de pensée sur la formation de la pensée urbanistique. Elle a dressé une typologie des grands modèles \ninspirant l’urbanisme qui prend forme dans la première moitié du vingtième siècle. Cette démarche a largement éclairé \nl’enseignement et la recherche en urbanisme francophone. \nAujourd’hui\, il nous semble pertinent de reprendre cette discussion\, tant pour l’actualiser aux débats contemporains\, que \npour l’approfondir. En effet\, si les travaux épistémologiques ou les incursions dans les configurations discursives \nalimentant l’urbanisme existent\, elles demeurent rares\, dans une discipline dominée par l’action\, et se sont effectuées en \nordre dispersé\, tout particulièrement dans le monde francophone. \nÀ cet effet\, nous voulons ouvrir un cycle de rencontres régulier\, de six à sept rencontres par an. Nous invitons les \nprésentations de jeunes chercheurs et de chercheurs confirmés\, français et étrangers. Jeudi 11 \nseptembre 2025\, 10h-12h\, Institut de Géographie\, salle 303. \nJoanna Koszewska est docteur en urbanisme de Sorbonne Université et de l’UT de Varsovie. Adiunkt (maître de \nconférences) à Warsaw University of LifeSciences (SGGW)\, Pologne\, elle effectue un séjour scientifique de trois mois à \nSorbonne Université financé par une bourse du gouvernement français. \nIzabela Mironowicz : l’urbanisme radical – genèse\, développements\, applications. Date à préciser dans la première \nquinzaine de novembre. \nIzabela Mironowicz est Professeur en Urbanisme à l’Université de Technologie de Gdansk (Pologne). Urbaniste radicale\, \nelle est spécialiste de la planification urbaine\, de la participation citoyenne\, et militante pour la décroissance\, qu’elle veut \nappliquer à la transformation des villes. \nMaliheh Hashemi : l’urbanisme résilient\, entre naturalisme et technotopie ? – genèse\, développements\, applications. \nDate à préciser en janvier 2026. \nMaliheh Hashemi est docteure en urbanisme\, en post-doc au laboratoire Médiations sur le projet AVIR. Elle a travaillé le \nconcept de résilience urbaine en analysant le cas français dans sa thèse de doctorat\, et l’élargit actuellement à \nl’urbanisme comparé dans son post-doc qui aborde six cas dans des pays européens. \nJean-Michel Roux : de quel urbanisme l’atelier est-il le visage ? (février-mars 2026) Jean-Michel Roux est Professeur en \nUrbanisme à l’Institut d’Aménagement\, de Tourisme et d’Urbanisme (IATU) de l’Université Bordeaux Montaigne\, \nchercheur à l’UMR Passages (CNRS-5319) et urbaniste praticien (OPQU) au sein du collectif Bazarurbain. \nAlexis Prud’hon : Gaston Bardet et l’urbanisme organiciste (avril-mai 2026) \nTitulaire d’un Master en philosophie\, Alexis Prud’hon est jeunechercheur et spécialiste de Gaston Bardet. \nXavier Desjardins : l’urbanisme écologique\, progressisme\, naturalisme\, technicisme ? (mai-juin 2026) \nXavier Desjardins est Professeur en Urbanisme à Sorbonne Université\, auteur avec David Djaïz de La Révolution \nobligée\, réussir la transformation écologique sans dépendre de la Chine ou des Etats-Unis (2024).Trends and models in urban planning \n  \nResearch seminar \nhosted by Anna GEPPERT\, University Professor \nUR Mediations – Sciences of Places\, Sciences of Connections \nSorbonne University \nPurpose of the seminar: \nIn her famous anthology L’urbanisme\, utopie et réalités (1965)\, Françoise Choay demonstrated the importance of major \ncurrents of thought in the formation of urban planning. She drew up a typology of the major models that inspired urban \nplanning in the first half of the 20th century. This approach has greatly informed teaching and research in urban planning \nin French-speaking countries. \nToday\, we wish to revisit this discussion\, both to bring it up to date with contemporary debates and to explore it in greater \ndepth. Indeed\, while epistemological work and forays into the discursive configurations that feed urban planning do exist\, \nthey remain rare in a discipline dominated by action\, and have been carried out in a scattered manner\, particularly in the \nFrench-speaking world. \nTo this end\, we would like to launch a series of regular meetings\, six to seven per year. We invite presentations from \nyoung and established researchers from France and abroad. Presentations may focus on an urban planning model\, a \nconcept or school of thought\, or a past or present urban planner\, on the sole condition that they engage in analyzing the \ninteractions between underlying influences\, urban planning doctrines\, and scientific paradigms. \nProvisional program for 2025/26: \nJoanna Koszewska: The concept of the common good and urban planning—genesis\, developments\, applications. \nThursday\, September 11\, 2025\, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.\, Institute of Geography\, Room 303. \nJoanna Koszewska holds a PhD in urban planning from Sorbonne University and the Warsaw University of Technology. \nShe is an assistant professor at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Poland and is currently on a three- \nmonth research fellowship at Sorbonne University funded by a French government grant. \nIzabela Mironowicz: Radical urban planning—origins\, developments\, applications. Date to be determined in the first half \nof November. \nIzabela Mironowicz is a professor of urban planning at the Gdansk University of Technology (Poland). A radical urban \nplanner\, she specializes in urban planning and citizen participation\, and is an activist for degrowth\, which she wants to \napply to the transformation of cities. \nMaliheh Hashemi: Resilient urban planning\, between naturalism and technotopia? – origins\, developments\, applications. \nDate to be confirmed in January 2026. \nMaliheh Hashemi holds a PhD in urban planning and is a postdoctoral researcher at the Médiations laboratory on the \nAVIR project. She explored the concept of urban resilience by analyzing the French case in her doctoral thesis and is \ncurrently expanding it to comparative urban planning in her postdoctoral research\, which examines six cases in \nEuropean countries. \nJean-Michel Roux: What kind of urban planning does the workshop represent? (February-March 2026) Jean-Michel \nRoux is a professor of urban planning at the Institute of Planning\, Tourism\, and Urban Planning (IATU) at Bordeaux \nMontaigne University\, a researcher at the Passages UMR (CNRS-5319)\, and a practicing urban planner (OPQU) with \nthe Bazarurbain collective. \nAlexis Prud’hon: Gaston Bardet and organic urban planning (April-May 2026) \nWith a master’s degree in philosophy\, Alexis Prud’hon is a young researcher and specialist in Gaston Bardet. \nXavier Desjardins: Ecological urban planning: progressivism\, naturalism\, technicism?
